The materials used in the creation of the M16 Somdej amulets
included old powder from Wat Rakhang, Bang Khun Phrom, and Wat Ket Chaiyo, old powder from Somdej Phra Pilan, 108 types of garnet, and incense ash from the ordination hall of Wat Rakhang, Wat Bang Khun Phrom, Wat Mai Ammatarot, Wat Ket Chaiyo, Wat Rai Khing, and Wat Sothon Wararam. Furthermore, broken amulets, including those of Luang Pu Thuat, Phra Chao Khun Nor, and Luang Pu Toh, were ground up and mixed together to create the amulets.
These amulets were then consecrated in three grand consecration ceremonies: one
at Phutthamonthon,
one at Wat Mai Ammatarot
, and one at Wat Rakhang.
After the required number of amulets were completed, the amulets were consecrated at Wat Phra Samut Chedi, followed by a grand consecration at Phutthamonthon.
And the Buddha consecration ceremony at Wat Tham Suea Krabi, 99 monks chanted the Chinnabanchorn prayer 108 times.
Organized by the Department of Corrections, Thonburi Prison in 2003, Luang Por Uttama as the president of the monks, Luang Por Thaweesak as the president of the operations.
The origin of the M16 model This model became very famous when the newspaper revealed in 2003 that someone found a package of objects which they thought were grenades. The officers therefore used an M16 gun to shoot the package until it was shattered. The result was that there were no grenades in the package.
Only Phra Somdej Wat Rakhang, the Department of Corrections, Thonburi Prison model, were found wrapped together in the bundle. But not a single Phra Somdej Wat Rakhang in that bundle was broken or cracked. Therefore, it is the origin of the M16 model.
