Large Lotus Petal Buddha, Wat Sam Pluem, beautiful and complete, original gold lacquer

✅Thai Amulet Association Samakom cert

This Buddha image is easy to see. Old crypt stains, old gold lacquer on the Buddha image. This is a Wat Sam Pluem Buddha image that is in perfect condition, no breaks or repairs. Currently, it is considered rare to find. There is evidence of finding Wat Sam Pluem Buddha images 3 times. The first time is estimated to be around 2400 BE when they were found in the ruins of a pagoda. The next times were in 2414 BE and 2483 BE when the pagoda was dismantled. The last time, more than 40,000 images were found.

The substance of Wat Sam Pluem Buddha images is fine white powder with oil core, which is fragile, brittle, and easily broken. Most of the images found have had to be repaired. It is quite difficult to find beautiful and complete images. Almost all of them were lacquered and gilded from the crypt. In addition, some people have found burnt palm leaf black material, lead material, and tin material when the crypt was broken, but very few.

Wat Sam Pluem Buddha images are in the art style of the early Rattanakosin period. The principal Buddha image sits in the Samadhi posture, both in the Diamond Samadhi and Flat Samadhi postures, on a three-tiered pedestal seat. The

unique feature of this amulet is the long cloth base that extends down to the base. There are many molds, including pentagonal, triangular, lotus petal, pointed top, and bald head molds, and they come in both large and small sizes. The story behind the creation of this Wat Sampluem amulet is that Chao Phraya Bodindecha created the amulets by mixing them with sesame oil left over from the consecration ceremony, which was used in battle. There are traces of oil on the amulets, and they were brought to the crypt along with the restoration of the temple. Some say that Ajahn Phrom and Ajahn Chang created and placed them in the crypt during the reign of King Rama V.
