Phra Yod Thong, Wat Chamao
Today we will update information on Phra Yod Thong from Wat Chamao. Almost 2 years have passed, the Wat Chamao crypt was breached around April 2011. There are still many interesting stories to follow. It was discovered that...the various types of Phra Yod Thong that are claimed to be from the Wat Chamao crypt are several. Some say ... the Luang Por made them himself... some say they are completely fakes... some say they were stolen from somewhere else. However, from the testimonies and information of witnesses that can be used to make an assumption, it is found that... the Yod Thong Buddha amulets that are likely to be from the Wat Chamao or Wat Pratu Khian crypt can be divided into 2 types according to their sizes: bronze, gold, niello, silver, gold-plated, and gold. 1. The large type currently found is the Chiang Saen Buddha Yod Thong.
2. Small molds, which are currently found to have 4 types:
2.1 Found when lifting to move Luang Pho Suea and falling from the Buddha image
, and found near the fence wall next to people's houses behind the temple. Most of them are thick, dark green molds. I call them
"small smiling face molds" (borrowed the picture from Khun Bao, Wat Yak)
2.2 Found in alms bowls inside the cavity of the Buddha image, mostly
gold-plated and (full gold, which the author has never seen in real life,
and the excavator claims to have found many monks)
2.3 Found in jars and outside jars, which were broken into pieces, in a hole dug about 4 meters deep from the position of the original tall Buddha image, in the form of a thin layer of crypt material, bronze mixed with gold, niello, and silver, with gold being wet.
I call it the "small sweet-faced type". There are 2 sizes as follows: - The first size has a long stem. The appearance of the body is the same as the second size. Measure from the base, not including the stem, to the tip of the hair, it is 3.5 cm. the same, but the overall proportions are larger, bright red rust, wet gold.
I've washed it.
2.4 Found scattered around the area around the temple (written gate),
approximately 1-2 meters deep, the shape is uncertain, but it has a unique characteristic.
Those found are gold-colored, approximately 3 cm high.
Insiders told me that a wealthy man in the Tha Wang area received one from a monk. Before the monk relented and allowed him to worship it, it is said that he donated tens of thousands of baht to the temple (the one you see here has been moved to the personal treasury of a district chief C9 in the central region...). There are also silver bronze ones. I once saw one in the monk's bag and got a clear look at a prosecutor's, but I haven't had a chance to take a photo to post yet.

I've washed it.
- The second size has a short stem, smaller proportions, is sweeter...and looks more beautiful. The bronze material is silver, gold-plated, and really beautiful.
