Thai Amulet Hobby

There are always some of us who are avid collectors of Thai Buddha Amulet. And it is always our aim to only acquire genuine Thai Buddha Amulet to add to our collections. As such, many qualified individuals, private collectors and serious connoisseurs like to acquire amulets from reputable sources.

Avid collectors take pride in their Buddha Amulet collections. They would prefer to send their Thai Buddha Amulets for reputable competitions and certifications to ascertain their veracity, quality grading and worth.

Those who have been acquiring Thai Buddha Amulets for decades would prefer to go for antique collections which are of high standard, that is, they would prefer to get awards when they send their amulets for competitions and certifications.

Those who have been collecting Thai Buddha Amulets for decades know that quality comes with price.

The quintessential of collecting Thai Buddha Amulets is that they must be able to withstand the scrutiny of competitions and certifications. This is of utmost importance to determine their authentication, grading and value.

Thus,  sending amulets for competition is similar to, for instance, serious watch collectors sending their watches to the appointed agents for authentication and grading, despite accompanying certificates.

For instance, it is not uncommon to find collectors of luxury watches sending their watches to the appointed agents for verification.

Price also plays a part in determining the veracity of the amulets. If the price is far away from the market price found in Thailand then, it's probably too good to be true and one has to tread with caution. And don't fall for incredible stories.

More money has been lost on stories than is in the United States Treasury. While this may be an exaggeration, it does make the point clear. If someone tells you about an investment, research the recommendation before you put one cent of your money into it. Most novice collectors fall victim to stories every now and then. Do not fall for stories, no matter how good they sound. Invest based on facts.

Cheap is usually cheap for a reason. You would be far better off investing in quality, even if you can invest only a small amount. Cheap isn't a bargain if you lose all your money. Cheap can, in fact, become very expensive.

If the amulet is genuine and of good quality, it should revolve around the first four in the competition. In Thailand, it is common to see collectors sending their amulets for competitions and certifications, apparently for further verification and prestige associated with getting awards and certificates.

Those who have many decades of collection would have encountered many replicas and some of which are of such high quality, almost indistinguishable from the originals, that even experienced collectors and connoisseurs may sometimes fall victim if they are not judicious. At times, identifying replicas by their cheap prices may no longer be an easy way out as some high quality replicas are not cheap, albeit the price is still pale in comparison to the originals. That is why astute collectors do not mind sending their amulets for competitions and certifications and only go for reputable sources.

Never collect any amulet based on hearsay. Make sure you look at enough amulets so as to know what you are collecting. Educate yourself. Train your eyes. Sharpen your eyes. Put in the time. Put in the effort. You must scrutinise the amulet physically.

Know your collector. The hallmarks of a good collector are integrity, honesty and expertise. You must have confidence in that person.

As there are many types of amulets, it is hard to be an expert in all. It is therefore important for investors to specialise and focus according to their budget and interest.

May all beings be well and happy.
May all blessings be with you always.
May all beings be blessed with overflowing abundance.
